Our Story

It all began with a desire to create a beautiful, peaceful sanctuary. A home that inspired and sparked joy. Not just a space filled with things but a home that was more personal than perfect and more cherished than simply lived in. A home that reflected the creativity within us both. After realizing our skills and passions were better together than apart, made by Rose Marie came to life.

Susan was looking for a way to express her creativity but only saw her passion for home projects, upholstery, and sewing as a hobby. She had already started a successful business in her youth and never had a vision for what this new phase of life could be. Her daughter Sierra has always had an eye and passion for interior design which gave her the idea that her hobby could be turned into a mother-daughter business.

Our deep desire is to craft well-made heirloom pieces that add to the story and patina of our life. We hope that you too can live in a well-loved beautiful home that inspires you every day to be the best homemaker you can be.

Meet Sierra Rose

Daughter + Gardener + Blogger

Growing up Sierra developed a passion for all things food, eventually taking her to attend culinary school. After college, she found a deep love for gardening leading her to create Simply Sierra Rose a garden-to-table blog where she shares her passion for good, healthy whole food and helping others develop gardens with what they have.

She is wildly passionate about all things homesteading, homemaking, and sustainability, working toward gaining the skills to have a homestead of her own. Along with homemaking, interior design has always been another creative outlet for her. Inspired by her garden, and deep awe of nature, she loves exploring the world through a down-to-earth, authentic lense. She believes a home should be curated over time with care and is a place to be cherished and well-loved.

When she’s not busy in the garden you can find her baking homemade bread, testing new recipes, or hiking with her dogs.

Meet Susan Marie

Mother + Entrepreneur + Upholsterer + Musician

Susan was raised with a "learn to fix it" attitude from her father. Her craftiness always led her to make, craft, and fix things. She taught herself how to sew from an early age, so naturally, the upholstery was the perfect blend of her ingenuity and sewing skills.

Born out of a need for her daughter's safety in her crib, she became an entrepreneur and started her own company BreathableBaby, designing innovative, safe baby products. This endeavor is where she gained business know-how, and perseverance and fell in love with using her hands to solve problems and reinvent, proving there were no limits to her entrepreneurial spirit.

Years later, now expanding her journey with her daughter’s inspiration and creative eye, they have decided to start their own business, centering on vintage and antique furniture and enriching it with new textures and old familiar natural tones for a fresh yet down-to-earth feel. As for her style, she loves rich, warm colors and textures that feel like you’re out in the prairie or cuddled up on a cold night. When she’s not busy working on DIY house projects, or sewing you can find her playing her guitar, biking, or hiking with her dogs. The team of Rose and Marie is on its way to delivering one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to that perfect spot to fill your heart and home.
